----formed in 1982 as a joint venture between [[Columbia Pictures]] and [[Gaumont]] to distribute content by Gaumont and independent studios. this lasted till 1985 when gaumont was planning to set up operations in the US. [[Gaumont Columbia RCA Video|the home division of Columbia]] kept the branding. in 1988 it was revived to handle independent, low-budget, and direct-to-video film releases, and distributing [[Epic Productions]] and Vision P.D.G International releases theatrically and then went dormant again. in 2002 it was reactivated and then went back to bein dormant in 2008. it was revived as a one-off label, but now ~~itsj ust domrant~~ again
