formed in 1982 as a joint venture between Columbia Pictures and Gaumont to distribute content by Gaumont and independent studios. this lasted till 1985 when gaumont was planning to set up operations in the US. the home division of Columbia kept the branding. in 1988 it was revived to handle independent, low-budget, and direct-to-video film releases, and distributing Epic Productions and Vision P.D.G International releases theatrically and then went dormant again. in 2002 it was reactivated and then went back to bein dormant in 2008. it was revived as a one-off label, but now itsj ust domrant again
